Foam
Plastic Insulation: Properties and Economics
Not all foam is created equal – this presentation will
reveal which kinds of products will win business, enhance a facility,
save money – or just cause headaches. Herbert Slone, Registered
Architect and Technical Manager for Owens Corning, will explore the
important differences between extruded polystyrene, molded
polystyrene, and polyisocyanurate, the three most common types of
rigid foam plastic insulation products. The discussion will cover
physical properties, ASTM specification standards, and in-use studies
of real performance. Focus is provided on specific low-temperature
applications for Foamular Extruded Polystyrene Insulation and on the
economics of insulation, comparing the concept of "simple pay-back"
versus "optimum insulation".

Opening the Gateway to India:
Construction Trends and Opportunities
It is estimated that India will require 340 million
square feet of cold storage construction by 2014. This is a time of
enormous opportunity for aggressive contractors, suppliers, and
operators receptive to Indian ventures. There will be a Panel
Discussion, comprised of representatives of important Indian cold
chain players. Panel representatives were selected as part of a United
States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) Study Tour hosted by the
Global Cold Chain Alliance. Study Tour participants represent food
processing, third-party logistics, fresh produce, and other prominent
sectors of the Indian cold chain. From their perspective as industry
leaders, these panelists will deliver first-hand market intelligence
on the construction opportunities abounding in India. Attendees will
learn how to capitalize on this market potential while the iron is
still hot.
